The selection for the Critica il corto workshop is now active for the 2023 edition of The author’s passages: Mediterranean Interlacements. Aspirants will have time to apply until November 18th.

The laboratory reaches its tenth edition this year, its goal is training participants by giving them the tools to stimulate their ability to criticize and analyze short films. This year there will be two main activities: the radio criticism laboratory and the training of the Giuria Giovani.

Thanks to the radio criticism laboratory, the 5 selected participants will have the opportunity to try to work in radio as critics thanks to the precious collaboration with the Unica Radio broadcaster, managing the daily live broadcasts on the radio in which they will talk about the festival, the selected films and the various events such as masterclasses and round tables. In addition to this, they will also have the opportunity to join activities such as directing, conducting and editorial work, with the possibility of experimenting with all the different roles. The workshop will be held by Claudio De Pasqualis in collaboration with Francesco Crispino.

The Giuria Giovani laboratory has the goal to create an international jury made up of 10 young people who will have the task of giving an award to the best short film in the Intrecci Mediterranei section. The jury must be made up of young people aged between 18 and 28 from Mediterranean countries and they will be able to express their verdict after having undergone a film analysis and criticism class under the guidance of the critic Francesco Crispino. The meetings are all held in italian and the workshop will take place during the days of the festival. There will also be the possibility to contribute to the writing of film reviews and the production of audios which will enrich the radio workshop which will be held in parallel.

It’s possible to join just one of the two proposed activities, furthermore the organization will cover the food costs for all participants and will provide accommodation in a shared room for those who reside outside the former province of Carbonia-Iglesias.
