Sinossi/synopsis
Yusuf, un rifugiato di 13 anni, vive in esilio con i
nonni in una piccola città al confine turco, dove lavora
in una cava di sabbia per mantenere la famiglia.
L'ambiente del quartiere povero e quello lavorativo sono
ostili. Yusuf passa le sue giornate in una alienazione
totale. Le uniche cose che emozionano Yusuf, sono i
piccioni che ruzzolano e una ragazza di 15 anni, Amina,
che non ha assolutamente idea della sua esistenza. Yusuf
continua a sognarla. Lei un giorno chiede aiuto a Yusuf.
Lui è molto emozionato, ma dopo aver realizzato la sua
intenzione Yusuf si trova in una posizione che gli dà un
potere unico. Deve prendere una decisione tra usare il
suo potere con saggezza oppure abusarne... / Yusuf is
a 13 years old refugee boy who lives in a small Turkish
border town in exile with his grandparents.
He works on a sand quarry to support his family. The
environment of the poor neighborhood and quarry are
hostile, Yusuf spends his days in a complete alienation.
The only things, which make Yusuf exciting, are the
tumbling pigeons and the existence of a 15 years old
girl, Amina, who absolutely doesn't have an idea of him.
Yusuf keeps making dreams about her. One day she comes
to him and ask for his help that makes Yusuf very
excited but after realizing her intention Yusuf finds
himself in a position that gives him an unique power. He
has to make a decision between using his power
wisely and abusing
it...

Biografia/Biography
Emre Kayiş, regista e sceneggiatore, vive a Istanbul.
Nel 2014 si è laureato alla London Film School con il
suo cortometraggio The Translator che è stato
nominato per il miglior cortometraggio del 2015 agli
European Film Awards. Il regista si propone di
raccontare storie umane che hanno una rilevanza sociale;
attualmente sta realizzando un altro cortometraggio
mentre scrive il suo primo lungometraggio Leopard. /
Emre Kayiş is an Istanbul based director and
screenwriter.
He graduated from the London Film School in 2014 with
his short film The Translator which was nominated for
Best Short Film for the 2015 European Film Awards. He
aims to tell human stories that have a social relevance.
He's currently developing another short while writing
his first feature Leopard.
